What you see
The gateway worked for weeks, then stopped, and its permissions are off again.
Why it happens
Android 11 and newer can remove permissions from apps that nobody opens.
What SMSKit needs and why
The gateway needs SMS, Phone and notification access to remain granted. Optional archiving also needs Read SMS and Contacts.
Permissions referenceHow to fix it
- Search Settings for SMSKit and open App info.
- Turn Pause app activity if unused off. On some phones this is called Remove permissions if app is unused.
- Open Permissions and grant the missing permissions again. Return to SMSKit and start its service.
